Overnight stay in Rome
Explore the remnants of the prosperous Roman town and witness the tragic plaster casts of its citizens that were preserved in the volcanic ash. The tour includes a stop off at Naples for a brief panoramic view of the city before making your way to Pompeii.
Head out of Rome and take the Autostrada del Sole south through the beautiful Italian countryside, admiring the rolling hills of Lazio and Campania. Enjoy a panoramic overview of Italy’s largest and most vibrant city, Naples, before heading south again to Pompeii. Once you reach the town of Pompeii, you will enjoy a tasty lunch. A real Neapolitan pizza! After lunch, you will visit one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruins of Pompeii, with Skip the Line entrance and a guided tour.
Once a thriving Roman town, Pompeii was destroyed by the unforeseen AD79 eruption of Vesuvius, which lies in between the town and Naples.
